BEAUMONT, CA — Traffic on westbound state Route 60 was backed up to the Beaumont area Thursday afternoon after a semi-truck carrying a tall load crashed into a freeway overpass. According to preliminary information from the California Highway Patrol, the mishap was reported at approximately 1:12 p.m. near Theodore Street. The rig was hauling tall heavy equipment that hit the overpass when the trucker drove under it.
